ISD 709 was pleased to host staff professional development sessions and public presentations on Historical and Generational Trauma and its Relationship to Adverse Childhood Experiences by Sam Simmons.
Mr. Simmons has over 25 years’ experience as a behavioral consultant in the areas of chemical dependency, violence abatement and historical trauma. He specializes in practical culturally sensitive trauma informed work and promotes healthy nonviolent relationships. Mr. Simmons is an Adverse Childhood Experience Interfaced Trainer in the state of Minnesota and is currently the SAFE Families Manager at The Family Partnership managing the federally funded Be More Project to stop violence.
He is respected for his highly informed work around historical trauma and his successful Community Empowerment Through Black Men Healing Conference around the country.
