K.E.Y. Zone



K.E.Y. Zone Program (Knowledge, Enrichment, and Youth Development)

K.E.Y. Zone is a collaborative program of the Duluth Y and ISD 709 Community Education.  The locations of these high quality programs are at all 9 Duluth Public Elementary Schools, which provides services for grades K-5 year round including summer and school breaks.


Before School: 6:30 a.m. to 7:45 a.m. *offered at limited sites
After School: 2:15 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Program is open at select sites in the summer and during school breaks

  • Summer Registration: March 1-31 (Space is limited)
  • Fall Registration: Starts in April and ends August 1 (Space is limited)

K.E.Y. Zone Summer Program 
Open to all area children (need not attend Duluth public schools).
For students who have completed kindergarten through completed 5th grade.
Activities include special on-site programming and weekly off-site field trips.
Space is limited so please register early

Hours: 6:30 am – 6:00 pm
Dates: Monday, June 20 – Friday, August 26 (Closed Monday, July 4)
Rates: $30 registration fee per child, *$37 daily rate (includes field trip costs)
*Child care assistance accepted, but must register by calling main office
