Announcement from Duluth Public Schools

March 15, 2020 Update:

As part of the state’s coronavirus response, Governor Tim Walz ordered that schools be closed to students by Wednesday March 18 through Friday March 27. The Governor said schools will remain closed through at least March 27.

In accordance with the Governor's order, Duluth Public Schools will be closed beginning Wednesday March 18 through Friday March 27.

The purpose of the short-term closure is to allow teachers, staff  and school administrators time to work together to prepare plans for longer-term school closures.

This includes plans for distance learning, distribution of school meals and continuation of essential services.

We understand there will be questions about how this short-term closure impacts Duluth Public Schools. Administrators are working to review the direction from the Governor, to be sure we fully understand what steps need to be taken and what the impacts will be.

We will continue to communicate regularly with families and staff as this situation evolves. Information is being posted at It’s also being shared through email, automated calls, social media, local media and other communication venues.

Thanks for your support and patience as we work to respond to this situation.
