National PTA's Reflections program provides opportunities for recognition and access to the arts.
Every year, for more than 50 years, 300,000 students in Pre-K through Grade 12 create original works of art in response to a student-selected theme.
The theme for the 2020-2021 program year is "I Matter Because...."
Students submit their completed works of art in one or all of the available arts categories:
Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography, Visual Arts.
Student winners from the local level have the opportunity to move up to state PTA programs and to the national level.
National Reflections winners are celebrated annually at National PTA's Convention & Expo.
National PTA then collects and curates a traveling exhibit for the next year.
Submissions are Due January 5, 2021 at the Ordean East Middles School office.
Submissions must include: Student entry form and consent form
Please review guidelines and rules for your selected category or categories.

Some students and families have asked for a planner. Here is a digial version designed for Distance Learning. Go ahead and make a copy of your own so you can modify as you like or print the pages.
This fall has certainly been different for all of us, we miss the kids and the energy that they bring to the building. With no Open House in September the staff at OEMS have created introduction videos to tell you a little about themselves and their classes. You can find links to the videos on the PDF that is linked below.
Duluth Public Schools is entering into an agreement with the College of Saint Scholastica (CSS) to provide academic tutoring supports for our students that are participating in Distance or Hybrid Learning models.
CSS tutors will begin providing supports within the next couple of weeks.
Tutoring support is available online and will be provided through Zoom meeting links, as CSS accounts do not work with Google Meet.
CSS students do not have teacher access to Canvas or Seesaw and will not be working with teacher(s) to get work.
A parent can elect to give access rights as an observer to a tutor working with a student or the student can share the online learning with a tutor.
Parents must give permission for students to access these supports. Please complete the following form to indicate your interest in having your child participate to receive tutoring supports. Please include contact information so a tutor can reach out to you once the program is initiated.
The Duluth School District is adding many bus hubs to free meal distribution sites beginning Thursday November 19. The new sites will help expand access to meals while students are in distance learning. Free bagged meals are available weekdays when school is in session to children 18 years of age and younger. Parents/guardians can pick up the bagged meal without students present.
