Resolution of Gratitude & Gold Star Teachers Recognition

Resolution of Gratitude & Gold Star Teachers Recognition

On June 15, the Duluth School Board recognized the extraordinary pandemic response of Duluth Public Schools employees with a Resolution of Gratitude.  The resolution was presented as a video and approved unanimously.

As part of this recognition, the Board joined the Goldfine Family and Duluth Superior Area Community Foundation in recognizing all Duluth Public School teachers as Gold Star Teachers for going above and beyond in response to the COVID 19 pandemic.

The Gold Star Teacher Award honors inspiring Duluth Public School teachers. Established by Manly and Lillian Goldfine, the Award alternates each year between an elementary and secondary teacher.

However, this has been a year like no other.  When so many have stepped up and done inspiring work it was impossible to choose just one person to receive this honor.

Next year, the Gold Star Teacher Award will resume accepting nominations and the Award will be presented to two teachers, one elementary and one secondary.

In addition to the video, a poster reflecting this resolution will be displayed in our schools and offices beginning this summer and into the new school year.
