Congratulations to Kim Evavold-Bolf, recipient of the 2019 Goldfine Gold Star Teacher Award and to all 2019 Nominees!
Andy Goldfine made the announcement at a reception at Lincoln Park Middle School Wednesday evening during which he presented Kim with a trophy and a $5,000 check.
Kim says, “It is critical for me to inspire my students to believe in themselves and to know that they are special, appreciated, respected and able to learn at their own developmental pace. Some students need me to believe in them first, and make me prove it; others just need positive acknowledgement of their successes, big or small. This takes time and thought but it’s worth every second once every student gets there. That’s when I feel success.”
Manley and Lillian Goldfine established a fund for the Gold Star Teacher Award in 2006 through the Duluth Superior Area Community Foundation, to honor inspirational Duluth Public School teachers for their dedication, skills and hard work.
