ISD 709 is anticipating that K-2 elementary students will resume "in person" learning starting the week of January 25th. Grade 3-5 may start "in person" learning two weeks later. This means that the ISD 709 will be in need of substitute teachers starting January 25th. Messages to follow in the coming weeks will inform of all protocols and procedures that will be in place for the safety of subs, staff and students.

Thank you for your interest in being a substitute teacher for ISD 709.

Substitute Orientation

The Duluth Public Schools needs certified substitutes (teachers) and non-certified substitutes (paraprofessionals, clerical, custodians, bus drivers/helpers and food service helpers).

New substitutes to the District are required to complete an online application, substitute orientation online, total program and the new hire packet.

Returning substitutes that have worked within the past school year are required to do the Bloodborne Pathogen Training annually and notify the District that they will be continuing to substitute by returning the postcard sent from the Human Resources Department during the summer.

All substitutes new or returning, if your name does not appear in the drop down box of the Total Program (online training), please contact the Human Resources Department at (218) 336-8700, ext. 1059.
