Child Nutrition Information for Fall 2021

Welcome Back!
The Child Nutrition Team is looking forward to serving your children meals during the 2021-2022 school year.  We enjoyed serving the children meals over the summer months.  Thank you to the families that joined us.

At this time, the USDA and the Food & Nutrition Service at MDE allows for free meals to all children 18 and under.

What will School Meals look like this year?
School meals will be served as they were before the Pandemic.

Will the meals cost money?
The USDA and the Food & Nutrition Service at MDE announced that school meals are available to all children 18 and under at no cost.  If bringing a meal from home and your child wishes to purchase milk the cost is .50 cents.  We are not able to provide milk for free.

If breakfast and lunch is free, why do I have to fill out a free or reduced application?
The School District gets other funding based on the free and reduced applications. As well as, using that information for reduced fees associated with sports, etc.

Safety Measures?
Child Nutrition staff and other district staff will sanitize tables and high touch surfaces between each line.  Staff wear masks and gloves as per MDE & MDH guidance.
