Below is a list of upcoming events in the next few weeks. Please use the links to read more about them and sign up to volunteer:

PHIT (Parents Helping Incredible Teachers)*  This is an opportunity to help teachers with whatever projects need work. It is a great way to meet other parents and younger siblings welcome. There are sessions twice a month on Thursdays from 8:00am to 11:00am. Stop in for 15 minutes to work on one project or stay for the morning. Contact Colleen Seigar at cmseigar@gmail.com for more information or to be added to the contact list.

Junior Great Books is a volunteer driven program where volunteers discuss books with small groups of students.  There is a lot of flexibility with how volunteers run their discussions.  Volunteers Needed! Training will be offered in November and the 6-week program will kick off in January.  Contact Betsy Schwartz (bschwar1ster@gmail.com) or Nicole Bakken (mrsnicolebakken@gmail.com) if you are interested in learning more about volunteering with this awesome activity!  All students can participate, but because it is volunteer driven the number of students who are able to participate is dependent on the number of volunteers.  Last year there were 31 groups.

Art Adventures is a program through the Minnesota Art Institute.  The theme this year is Sources of Strength - People and Their Environments and the program will run from November 1 to December 22.  Volunteers Needed!  Similar to Junior Great Books, Art Adventures is volunteer driven, but only one volunteer per classroom is needed. NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY!  Please contact Becky Hartley at (218) 349-4843 for details by the end of October.

PTA Reflections Art Program is looking for a co-coordinator. Contact Maglina Lubovich at maglina.lubovich@gmail.com if you are interested in working on this wonderful program.  This year's theme is "Look Within."

Destination Imagination - Registration for Destination Imagination is FULL for the 2019-2020 school year.

love kids. love books. volunteer at our library. *

Volunteering in the library/media center is a wonderful way to connect with Congdon kids through their elementary years. Congdon has an amazingly high number of books that are circulated each year. We would love your help!

how: help the librarian, Ms. Eason, by checking in/out books for students, shelving books and assisting with special projects. Training, information & guidance is provided.

when: as you are able. A schedule (in two hour increments) will be posted online in Volunteer Spot. Come for the full two hours or stay for 30 minutes. Some people like to sign up for a certain day each week/month. Other people enjoy working the days their child’s class is in the library. You could also schedule it when you happen to be at the school for other commitments. Signups are online so you can manage your own availability, but please connect with Michelle Henningsgaard to get additional information. http://signup.com/go/8WnxuF

interest or questions: please contact Michelle Henningsgaard at 218-329-0261 or michelleblenker@yahoo.com

Please see here for a map of the library

Please see here for the schedule of when classes are visiting the library.

*Kid friendly - You can volunteer for this with your child along.  Please be sure to bring along a snack & activity for any children helpers. :)
