As a service to our community agencies, we share events with our school community here. If you wish to have your organization's events included on this page, please email congdonweeklynews@gmail.com. We do not host flyers or PDFs, but will gladly share a link to your page.


  • UMD is offering a youth football day camp in July for children entering grades 3-8.  Please see flyer for more information.

  • Congdon Park Soccer registration is open.  Coaches are needed at the U6 to U12 levels. www.congdonparksoccer.org

  • Girls Fast Pitch Softball has registration open for girls ages 7-16.  Please see flyer for more information.

  • Orton-Gillingham Summer Reading Sessions will be available at Congdon Park in June (entering grades 1-4) and July (entering grades 4-6).  Please see flyer for more information.

  • The 2019 Greyhound Volleyball Camps will be held July 15-17 at Duluth East High School.  Opportunities for students entering grades 5-12. Please see flyer for more information.

  • Duluth East Boys Basketball Summer program has registration open.  Please see flyer for more information.

  • The STARBASE Explorers Summer STEM camp program is available to children entering grades 4, 5, or 6 in the fall of 2019. Sessions run Monday through Thursday, five hours a day. Sessions run from 8:30 AM to 1:30 PM daily. There is a $75 tax-deductible contribution option per student attending, though you can elect to give more to support this program into the future for Northland students. STARBASE is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization whose mission is to increase the knowledge, skills, and interest of youth in science, technology, engineering and math, and relies on your support to be able to offer this unique and high quality program to you. The true cost of the program exceeds $275/child.  Register here!

  • The Duluth YMCA has summer youth opportunities.  See flyer here.

  • Wednesday Night at the Races starts July 24.  Races are free for kids ages 14 and under, put on by the Young Athletes Foundation.  Please see flyer.

  • Volunteer opportunity with the Twin Ports Miracle League.  The Miracle League is a program that provides youth ages 4-19 with disabilities, an opportunity to play baseball as a team member in an organized league. Minimum age to volunteer is 8.  Please see flyer for more information.
