Ms. Ellingson, Art Specialist
Ms. Ellingson graduated from UMD in 2016 with a BFA in Fine Arts. Right after graduation, she joined the Peace Corps and served in a small country called the Gambia in West Africa for 27 months. Ms. Ellingson loves to travel and has been to 13 countries so far. She has plans to visit more next summer. She loves to make art in her free time, wheel throwing pottery, quilt making, crocheting, and drawing are her favorite forms of art. When she is not making art Ms. Ellingson likes to go for hikes with her dog or play board games with her friends.
Mr. Kallevig, Physical Education Specialist
Mr. Kallevig was new to Congdon in Fall of 2021. He graduated from Bemidji State in 2020 with a Physical Education degree. He also has a B.S. in Health and Wellness Management with a minor in Human Performance from the University of Superior-Wisconsin. Before becoming a teacher he worked as an independent personal trainer and in strength and conditioning positions. He has been a coach at East High School since 2001. In his free time he loves to travel and be outside and active with my wife and two dogs.
Mr. Garland, Music Specialist
Originally from Travelers Rest, SC, (where they say y’all, a lot) Mr. Garland earned his BA in Music Performance from the University of South Carolina (‘92). Afterwards he spent 6 years in Chicago performing in various musical settings and studying percussion with Paul Wertico (Pat Metheny.) He relocated to the south and lived in Atlanta, GA and Chattanooga, TN playing and performing with multiple groups and genres. While jazz is his passion he loves performing all types of music. He relocated to Duluth in 2017 with his wife and two sons. In his free time he enjoys mountain biking, performing with local bands, reading and watching documentaries.
Mrs. Miller, Media/Technology Specialist
Mrs. Miller is a two-time graduate of The College of St. Scholastica, with a B.S. in Elementary Education ('92) and an M.Ed. in Educational Media and Technology ('98). She's been at Congdon since 2001 and in the Duluth Public Schools since 1995. When she's not at school, she's probably at her cabin or sewing, gardening, or reading. She has five children and a very patient husband. Anytime you have a technical question, she's the gal to call.
Ms. Erpsamer, Digital Innovation Specialist
