The Duluth Public Schools Driver Education Program will be offering driver education classroom instruction for residents of ISD 709 ages 15 and older using Google Classroom/Meet software.

This is for classroom instruction only.  You will receive a letter of completion at the end of the course that you can use to register for behind the wheel lessons from any commercial or public driving school in the area that has openings.

The class will meet online on the following dates from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon.  Attendance is mandatory.    June 9,10,11,15,16,17,18,22,23,24,25.  Class begins on Tuesday, June 9.

Online registration for this class will begin on Thursday, May 28 at 7:00 a.m. on the Duluth Community Education website:  www.duluthcommunityed.org 

 

Requirements: Students must be at least 15 years of age by the first class, reside or attend public school within ISD #709 and have their parent/guardians permission if under 18.

Program:

  • Features 32 hours of classroom instruction and 6 hours of behind the wheel instruction.
  • Classes instructed by certified public school teachers.
  • Classes are offered at three schools, combining classroom and behind the wheel instruction with a variety of multimedia learning experiences, community resource presentations and a parent involvement component.
