Youth

Students are engaged and energized through fun after school activities that support learning, creativity, and academic success. Through enrichment and recreational opportunities, students pursue skills and interests and develop meaningful relationships with peers and adults.  Classes include art and crafts, music, languages, recreational activities and more.

Community Education welcomes participants of all abilities. People with disabilities registering for community education classes may request reasonable accommodations with advance notice.

COVID-19 Response

ISD 709 Community Education wants you to Stay Healthy & Connected!  Your health and safety is important to us, so we have added health and safety modifications to our classes and activities based on the MDE, MDH and CDC guidelines.

Communication 

 »» An email will be sent several days before class starts reminding of social distancing  guidelines, hygiene protocols and class procedure. 

»» You will be notified of what supplies/equipment to bring to class (if applicable). »» Face masks are required; students must provide their own face mask. For exercise classes, face masks can be taken off during activity.

»» Stay home if you do not feel well. 

Guidelines are subject to change and we will contact you by email with any updated protocols and procedures. Please verify that your  contact information is current in your registration account. 

Arrival to Class 

»» We ask you to self-screen before attending class. Please do not attend class if you have the following: 

»» new onset or worsening cough OR shortness of breath OR  

»» at least two of the following symptoms: fever (100.4o F or higher); chills; muscle pain; headache; sore throat; new loss of taste or smell. 

»» Wash or sanitize hands immediately upon entry to the building.  

»» Maintain social distancing. 

During Class 

»» Face masks are required; please provide your own face mask. 

»» Sit in an assigned seat or area throughout class and maintain social distancing.  

»» Cover your cough with a tissue or use your elbow. Wash or sanitize hands after. 

Departure from Class 

»» Clean your area as directed by the instructor. 

»» Take all personal supplies and equipment with you. 

»» Exit building using designated departure door.  

»» Community Education and custodial staff will clean and sanitize all classrooms, materials, equipment, chairs and tables following each class.
