Community Education

Duluth Community Education provides public access to pool facilities with open swims, swim lessons, and pool rentals. The aquatics program also includes water aerobics, scuba diving, kayaking, specialty training and after school swim teams in the middle school. The pools are operated 11 months of the year.

COST: $4 or Punch Cards Available from the Lifeguard (10 Punches for $35). Lifeguard supervised. All ages welcome. Perfect for families and groups. There will be special designated lap swim lanes. Balls, water wings, toys, and noodles are not allowed. Bring your own suit and towel. Family locker room area available.

Accessible Classes for individuals with disabilities or special needs

Continue your educational opportunities through a wide variety of Adult Evening Classes and Programs designed to meet your specific needs.

Programs for adults with disabilities are designed to provide instruction and practice in life skills that increase independence, communication, and community integration. The courses offered promote:

• self-esteem
• relaxation
• leisure and social skills
• creative art projects
• movies and music activities
• sports and recreation
• and other activities

Classes are held in accessible buildings and support services are available upon request.

Fees: The cost of the full program (classroom and behind the wheel) is $420 and must be paid when registering using Visa, MasterCard or Discover. When registering please use the student’s full legal name (including middle) and include the student’s date of birth.

Community Education Inclement Weather Policy

If school is cancelled for the day, all community education classes will be cancelled that day.

If afterschool activities have been cancelled by the school district, please check www.duluthcommunityeducation.org for specific class cancellations. A decision if evening community education classes are cancelled will be made by 4:00pm. Class participants will receive communication via text, email, or phone call to verify class cancellation.

Community Education Fee Assistance 

Duluth Community Education would like to make sure all community members can participate in Adult Enrichment or Youth Enrichment classes. If you are experiencing financial hardship and would like to apply for fee assistance, please fill out the appropriate application below. A Community Education staff member will reach out to you for class registration once your application has been reviewed.

UCare Class Discount

Contact your UCare representative. 

A full refund is issued if a class is canceled, and not rescheduled.

If a student must cancel prior to the beginning of a class, requests for a refund (or credit) must be made at least two (2) days prior to the beginning of class.

If participating in one of our Bus Trips, requests for a refund must be made at least 10 days in advance.
