Mission

To provide and continually improve lifelong learning opportunities that complement and support the school district educational programs. Community Education provides opportunities for all ages through classes and activities which serve people's social, recreational, enrichment and academic needs.

Enrichment Classes for All Ages

Adults

Hundreds of evening classes provide a diverse source for lifelong learning opportunities for adults who want to learn a new skill, explore a new interest and hobby or enrich their personal and professional lives.

Youth

Students are engaged and energized through fun after school activities that support learning, creativity, and academic success. Through enrichment and recreational opportunities, students pursue skills and interests and develop meaningful relationships with peers and adults.  Classes include art and crafts, music, languages, recreational activities and more.

Be a Community Education Teacher

Do you have a passion for cooking or gardening, a talent for art or music, and the enthusiasm to share your interest with others?  

Consider Teaching a Community Education Class! 

We are looking for individuals interested in creating quality and thoughtful courses to share with the community.

Community Education Fee Assistance 

Duluth Community Education would like to make sure all community members can participate in Adult Enrichment or Youth Enrichment classes. If you are experiencing financial hardship and would like to apply for fee assistance, please fill out the appropriate application below. A Community Education staff member will reach out to you for class registration once your application has been reviewed.

YOUTH SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION

  • Supply fees due to instructor must be paid by participant
  • Pool activities are not included
  • For those who cannot afford to pay, please indicate so on the application.
  • Scholarships will cover up to $50 per person, per season

Weather & Cancelation Policy

Cancelation Policy

A full refund is issued if a class is canceled and not rescheduled.

If a Student must cancel prior to the beginning of class, requests for a refund must be made at least two (2) days prior to the start of class

If participating in one of our Bus Trips, requests for refund must be made at least ten (10) business days in advance of departure.

Inclement Weather Policy

If school is cancelled for the day, all community education classes will be cancelled that day.

If afterschool activities have been cancelled by the school district, visit duluth.ce.eleyo.com for specific class cancellations. A decision if evening community education classes are cancelled will be made by 4 p.m. Class participants will receive communication via text, email, or phone call to verify class cancellation.
