School Board
The Duluth School Board is an elected entity legally charged with governing the school district and is responsible to its community for governing efficiently and leading effectively to provide for equitable education, resulting in high student achievement.
The Duluth School Board is responsible for evaluating the superintendent and outcomes; establishing expectations, parameters and strategic plan; and approve policies, budget and contracts.
Duluth School Board members are elected by district to four-year terms and can be reached via email at schoolboard@isd709.org.
All board meetings are open to the public, except for those specifically permitted by law to be closed for discussion of identified issues such as negotiation strategy or litigation. Unless otherwise noted, monthly regular school board meetings are held at the District Services Center, 709 Portia Johnson Drive.
