Duluth Public Schools is thrilled to announce that School Board member Rosie Loeffler-Kemp has been selected as a 2025 All-State School Board Member by the Minnesota School Boards Association (MSBA). This prestigious honor recognizes Loeffler-Kemp's exemplary service, leadership, and commitment to advancing education in Duluth.

“We are incredibly proud of Rosie and this well-deserved recognition,” said John Magas, Superintendent of Duluth Public Schools. “Her dedication to our students, families, and the community is truly commendable.”

Since 1971, MSBA’s awards committee selects up to seven individual board members to the All-State School Board. There are 2,186 school board members in Minnesota. Board members are nominated by superintendents, fellow board members, parents or community members for their outstanding contributions to public education. Loeffler-Kemp was one of seven board members chosen for the award this year.

“The All State School Board represents the highest example of board service. These are school board members who are committed to student achievement, determined to build support for their local schools and unwavering in their pursuit of what’s best for students,” MSBA Executive Director Kirk Schneidawind said.

School Board member Jill Lofald nominated Loeffler-Kemp for the award and wrote: “Rosie has a passion for relationship building and partnerships with community organizations. Her positive, deep relationships and leadership throughout the community contribute to her effectiveness in her roles as a school board member. She consistently brings thoughtfulness, empathy and an unwavering belief in the power of public education to each task.”

“I am honored and humbled to receive this award from the MSBA,” said Loeffler-Kemp. “It has been a privilege to serve on the Duluth School Board and work alongside my fellow board members, Superintendent Magas, and the dedicated staff of our district. I am committed to continuing to work hard to ensure that every student in Duluth receives a high-quality education.”

Loeffler-Kemp was recognized at the MSBA Leadership Conference held in January at the Minneapolis Convention Center.
