Assistant Superintendent

Anthony Bonds headshot

Anthony Bonds serves as the assistant superintendent of Duluth Public Schools since July 2020. 

As an administrator, Bonds provides instructional and operational leadership for principals, directors, and coordinators and oversees areas of teaching, learning and equity.

Bonds helps foster and develop community-wide partnerships. He is a board member of the Duluth Community School Collaborative, City of Duluth Workforce Development, YMCA Community Advisory Board, and LISC Duluth (Local Initiatives Support Corporation). 

He started his career as a high school science teacher before moving into administration.  Over his 28 years in education, he served as a high school teacher, high school assistant principal, elementary principal, director, executive director and assistant superintendent. 

Mr. Bonds holds a master's degree in Administrative Leadership from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee and a bachelor's degree in Biology and Chemistry from Morris Brown College. He completed the National Superintendents Academy with Atlantic Research Partners in 2017. Bonds will complete his doctorate by June 2023.
