Denfeld Key Club students slept outside in cardboard boxes to help raise awareness of homelessness and collect funds to benefit
Lifehouse, a local organization supporting homeless and at-risk youth. The event raised $600.  Key Club is a service program for high school students, providing opportunities to build character and develop leadership. Lifehouse helps at-risk, homeless kids become healthy, positive adults.  Services provide youth ages 14-20 with access to hot meals, shelter, and programs that help kids succeed in housing, jobs, school and health goals.

Coach Lee Kruger, Duluth East, has been named Section 7AA Coach of the Year for Girls Tennis.

Duluth East High School’s speech and debate program has earned membership in the National Forensic League’s prestigious 100 Club. Students earn points and degrees in their honor society based on competitive and service-related activities – the Duluth East chapter achieved 100 or more degrees last year and ranks among the top 10% of schools nationwide.  This achievement demonstrates outstanding commitment to teaching students essential life skills – including communication, research, listening, writing and organization.
