INVITATION: The DULUTH branch of the NAACP invites you to a YOUTH SUMMIT ON RACISM for students in 6th-12th grade

TUESDAY, APRIL 14TH 5:00 P.M. – 7:30 P.M. Central Hillside Community Center 

Refreshments provided by Neighborhood Youth Services

ISD 709 Schools Rock State Destination Imagination Tournament!   

   Four ISD 709 teams competed in the 2015 State Destination Imagination Tournament.  Three qualified for the Global DI Tournament in Knoxville, TN and one

earned an award at Regionals for their outstanding presentation. 

--Ordean East Middle School took 1st Place in Middle School Improv  

--Laura MacArthur Elementary tied for 1st Place in Elementary Improv 

--Lowell Elementary took 2nd Place in Elementary-Structural

--Lester Park Elementary received a Renaissance Award at Regionals which recognizes outstanding skill in the areas of engineering, design, or performance.

  Destination Imagination is an educational program where student teams solve open-ended Challenges and present their solutions at tournaments.  In working to solve Challenges, teams learn important life skills such as time management, collaboration, conflict resolution, and creative and critical thinking.
