   As the school year ends, many thanks to the teachers, staff, volunteers, administrators, families and all who work every day to help Duluth students realize their potential and pursue their dreams. 

Denfeld Seniors Walk to Inspire
   Denfeld High School graduating seniors visited several elementary schools for a “Senior Walk," wearing their caps and gowns to celebrate and to be inspirational role models for the younger students.

US Navy Blue Angels Inspire Hunters
   While Denfeld graduating seniors were out walking the halls of elementary schools on Friday, nearly 200 ninth, tenth and eleventh grade students had an opportunity to hear from the US Navy Blue Angels flight exhibition team.   The team shared a message of hope, taking responsibility, dreaming big dreams, and looking forward, not back. 
‘Hounds Earn Trip to State  
   Congratulations to the Duluth East High School Boys Tennis Team for capturing the Section 7AA Championship and to Elliot Schneider who won the Section Singles Championship!
   Kudos all around - Derek Boese, Elliot Schneider-Captain, Eric Patterson -Captain, Luke Hietala, Dylan Junker, Inigo Campo, E.J. Hietala, David Holliday, Alek Lake, Vinny Berarducci, Lucas Goetzman, Nolan Humphreys, Michael Sutherland, Tristan Bombardieri, Reece Patten, and coach Jim Berry and Chad Humphreys.
Denfeld Student Receives $1,000 Strength in Community Scholarship
   Madeline Roberts, Denfeld High School, is one of 12 winners of the FOX 21 Strength in the Community Scholarship.  She is a member of the National Honor Society, plans to attend the College of St. Scholastica this fall and is considering a career in the medical field.
   The Scholarship was created to help students reach their goals to pursue higher education. Twelve finalists will receive $1,000,  one will trade in their $1,000 for a $10,000 check.   KQDS-TV21
High School Students Making a Difference:  Members of Duluth HOSA Future Health Professionals collected $121.46 for donation to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.  

Gathering for Music:
 Students, families and community gathered for Denfeld High School's annual outdoor concert. Beautiful music, beautiful weather!

Free Meals for Children:  2017 Summer Breakfast & Lunch Program Begins June 13  
   Funded by the US Department of Agriculture, meals are provided to children 18 years of age and under without charge, adults who accompany their children can purchase a meal for $3.85. 
Meals are served June 13 - August 25, 2017 (no meal service on July 4, 2017). No paperwork necessary, just show up for good food and friendly service. 
   Menus include a variety of food items: hot entrees, salads, sandwiches, vegetables, fruits, bread, milk, and dessert items. 
--Breakfast: 8:00AM to 10:30AM
--Lunch: 11:30AM – 1:00PM
