Senator Franken Visits Duluth East Daredevils

Minnesota Senator Al Franken recently visited the Duluth East Daredevils robotics team at Archer Racing in Duluth. Senator Franken got a firsthand look at the progress the team is making on their 2014 robot and team Co-Captain
Anna Karas demonstrated their award-winning robot, Arcana.  Franken said robotics teams like the Daredevils are doing an excellent job preparing students for careers in STEM fields (science, technology, engineering and mathematics).  


Myers-Wilkins Students Show Creativity

Students at Myers-Wilkins Elementary are completing a large-scale ceramic art installation on “healthy choices” for the school cafeteria.  They also created stepping stones for a Peace Garden that will be planted at Myers-Wilkins in the spring.  The work is supported by a grant and is part of a multi-year project involving hundreds of students from Nettleton and now Myers-Wilkins elementary schools.
