The Denfeld Boys Hockey Team worked to “pay it forward” to local families over the holidays, raising over $1000 to purchase gifts for two families in the area through the Salvation Army’s Adopt a Family Program. The hockey team bagged groceries, collected donations, and sponsored "Chuck-A-Puck" competitions during their home games to raise funds. "It's a great way to build team unity while helping others," says DeAnna Decaro, Project Coordinator.
Duluth East High School cheerleaders placed first in their division at the University of Minnesota Cheer Competition, earning a $500 scholarship to WOW Factor Cheer Nationals. They were one of three teams out of 40 to receive the scholarship.
