The early childhood years from birth to the start of kindergarten are an important time of rapid growth. A variety of helpful programs for parents and their children are available.
Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE): Duluth Public Schools offer classes for parents and children ages birth through 4 years old.
Preschool: Duluth Public Schools offer several preschool class options in collaboration with School Readiness, Head Start, Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten, Early Childhood Scholarships and Early Childhood Special Education funding sources.
Early Childhood Screening offers free developmental screenings. It is recommended children are screened during the year they turn three and it is required for kindergarten entrance.
